It's happened the past two years on both Billboard and R&R (AT40). In 2000, Breathe by Faith Hill was number 1 on Billboard for the year while Everything You Want by Vertical Horizon did the honors on R&R. Both peaked no higher than #2 on the weekly chart. This past year, Hanging By A Moment did the honors on both charts without getting any higher than #2.
