edgier has it's place. as I said I believe (gees, I forget!) edgier EQ is common in national TV and radio voiceovers (god, a lot of them use it) and movie trailers for emphasis and helps give that larger then life sound. i've done it to myself, and it can sound good.

overall, casey's eq settings sounded fine in those years, time it hits the air (which can add even more processing depending on what the station's setting are for their optimod...the most common on air processing system in the world! FYI www.orban.com) the edginess makes his voice stand out nicely. I was a bit surprised at the latest stuff I heard. and after a second listen after I types this, I am more convinced that there's nothing on his voice at all. Eq settings are often all trial and error...maybe they don't want to do that?

In any event, get rid of that booth. regardless of eq, everything i've heard up to then is very intimate with a close mic technique or a good booth to dampen any reflection.
