Great question! Makes sense to have "Flashback" shows from the 1970's, since the show was only three hours long from July 4, 1970 to September 30, 1978. Hence, no need to cut out the first hour and those wonderful "Archive" features that appeared between 1978 and 1981. However, as others have observed before, this will not likely happen unless big markets pick up the current 1980's "Flashback" shows (sans the first hour and "Archive" features) and more stations switch to all 1970's music.

As for your desire to hear some of the early shows...many of us on this site collect and trade shows. I have several shows from the early 1970's. If you would e-mail me your mailing address, I would be happy to make you CD copies of some of these shows.
