No! Canadian hot 20 I believe is a album rock style show wholly produced in canada via satellite by soundsource.

SIDEBAR-up until the early 90's, most american shows were sold for cash upwards of $100 US/week or more depending on market and the show!(I remember WWONE's paul simon concert in central park's live broadcast back in 1990. the one time airing was sold for $300..OUCH!) with soundsource buying the show then selling canadian ad time and repackaging it to some degree with their brand, stations will run the shows without cash outlay (which is important for the bottom line!)and only national ad time (like in the US) is given for the show.

soundsource also produces programming in house, with the canadian hot 20 being just one of the shows.

FYI, the 3 big distributors in canada of network syndication these days are:

soundsource www.soundsourcenet.com

chum radio network www.chumradionetwork.com

dasilva radio network <a rel=nofollow target=_blank href="http://www.dasilvagroup.com/">http://www.dasilvagroup.com/</a>

all three handle canadian distribution for american shows and produce in house original canadian shows, and in the case of soundsource, they also handle prep service and production libraries.

I know casey is repped by soundsource in canada, because they have the deal with premiere, but no mention on the web site....weird! in any event, check out the sites, and see how things are slighly different up here.

on a different note, TV is similar. you'll often shows on all 3 US networks all on one network up here. it's all about who buys the right to run it up here. CTV might pick the best of all 3 networks in the US, because it deals with the production company. it's all who pays the bucks!
