Whelp, here's my two quarters <g>

In Season 1 there was a great deal of background information that focused on Beka and Tyr. And there was a great deal of background information on the Nietzscheans, (needed because they were a major race in this Universe)

But, because of this, Dylan, Trance, Harper, Rev, and yes even Rommie were just touched on.

So, because the fans KNOW more about Tyr and Beka, it is far easier to understand them.

What I think needs to be done, is more background on Dylan's character, his family, his relationship with his parents, more stories about his role as Captain of the Andromeda and with the crew BEFORE the fall--and so on, so we could get to KNOW Dylan better.

And one other observation--I liked Tyr to a point---but he was becoming so predictable, (because of his always thinking of self)--and it was Tyr's changing in attitude, (that kludges and other races might be equal, and that if the Universe was to become less chaotic, the Nietzscheans would have to change)that caused me to like him a bit more.

Lastly, Dylan is the Captain of the Andromeda. And if episodes more on the lines of POTS were show, where we see the rest of the cast working together as a TEAM--giving input and opinions to Dylan, and allowing Dylan to come up with the incredible tactical manuevers that he is so capable of, I think many would find him MORE interesting.

So--I don't think it is that there are Tyr bashers so much as there are some fans that are tired of Tyr stories that focus so much on his background, attitudes, philosophies and so on, while other characters such as Trance, (who is NOW beginning to be explored), Harper, Rommie and Dylan are just glossed over. Just because Dylan is in every scene, doesn't mean we know anything about him.

Anyway, my two quarters again <g>
