In reply to: James 's message, "Sorry if this has been done, but - Can anyone explain the last episode of Season 4?" on 18/09/04 8:58am

I know you're confused, a lot of people are. The Paradine [spelling as per closed caption] have never been mentioned until 'The Dissonant Interval'. I assume they're some sort of Ascension/Higher Beings [see Stargate *rolls eyes*] Dylan doesn't know and we don't know that he is one. I assume that the Paradine we met believes Dylan to be one, but he isn't - something to do with his being around so long and all his heroic feats aka a legend in his own time.

The whole idea for TDI was that we see each crew member facing their worst nightmares and 'dying' for them [although we only SEE Rommie destroyed - due to Lexa's pregnancy].

When Dylan 'enters' the Route of Ages, he's branching off to another reality. Sort of like each choice we make leads to a different path in our lives, he is doing it physically. We'll see the differences in S5, but I won't spoil here.

As for the Dreaming/Singing - I believe Bob Engels used the Australian Maori/Aboriginals to base his peaceful society on. Dreamwalking so to speak...

Hope that helps some.
