I'm not sure what the general belief is but I think Trance really wasn't feeling well in Point of the Spear. The symptoms she described souned like a physical reacion to intense fear or other emotional upset. When she saw the member of her race with the Pyrians she got VERY scared. I'm thinking that's not an emotion she's felt often or is familiar with, so she wouldn't recognise the symptoms. Later when asked if she's feeling better she says No, she feels worse. By then she'd talked to them and found out her perople had sided with the Pyrians and she was even more scared. That's my take on it. I'd love to hear others.
