He is going and might do four episodes next year.

I don't think this is the plan. I get the impression that the season finale--already filmed because TPTB knew months ago that Mr. Cobb wanted out of his contract and they have been negotiating for some time--is part of the send-off. Mr. Howard says they want him back whenever possible but Mr. Cobb will probably have the final say on that.

Tyr wil not be recast. They are auditioning for a new character who may or may not become permanent, depending on how he works out.

I think the show will survive. While KHC fans believe he was the center of the series, there are several other characters who have fans as well and those characters will be brought forward, especially Harper.

KHC fans also forget that the US is only a small portion of the Andromeda market and Kevin Sorbo is recognizable around the world whereas Mr. Cobb is less well known. As long as Mr. Sorbo remains with the series, it will continue.
