Subject: Chasing the Night

Deciding it was time to leave
I strapped on my sandals,
Grabbed my wallet,
And left through the door.

Outside I couldn't help but notice what was up.
To the east,
Dawn was beginning to rise and the sky became a pale dark blue,
Clouds finishing their last dances before they go to work for the sun.

To the west was a dark hue of blue,
But no longer black.
Night, but not for long.

It was time for me to go to bed,
I had to get the night.

I ran toward the west,
Toward home,
Toward the night.

And so I chased the night down,
And I grabbed hold, and I fell asleep on it,
As day was kicking at my heels.
