Caught in traffic
snarling past
I cast about for reason
slip
and freefall into the day
she had stashed away behind the dumpster
outside McDonalds.

I can see the stars
swirling just beneath her skin
when the lights just right
when she turns towards the moon
her arms bare
they float there
a nebula of many colours.

You have no idea
she tells me
as we lay bathed in sweat and scented water.

I did
I retort
or thought I did
but lost it in the way you told me
I was beautiful.

She sometimes cries for change.

I sometimes wonder if she will
let me be change.

We can hear the world spinning
over mp3's and scratched cd's.

The time has come
she said.

I place my mouth against her bare arm
and breath in the universe.
