Subject: sunrise

when i was a wonderfilled youth
the sunrise would awe me...

(i knew it was so big)
and that this warmful eggyolk
could floatingly levitate
above even the faroff and high trees
made me bite my lip
in sheer astonishment

such a wonder, i thought
had to be the actuated lifework
of some mysterious deity
forcing the jello-orange disc
from beneath the nighttime ground

but today, i woke up early
and looked at you:

1. beautiful
2.pretending to sleep

and don't think for one minute
that i don't know damn well
what you were up to.
