Subject: Life's Learning Experience

Closure

Mistakes are often made in life
but a friend has enlightened me to something true
if you learn from the mistake, it is no more
but becomes an important lesson to you

I've made the same error over and over again
but it's only been recently i've picked up the plot
i'm regretting a mistake i've made in my life
but without that mistake i wouldn't have learnt to stop

so though i'm cursing myself at where i have landed
i'm actually quite grateful for this mistake that i've made
we make mistakes quite often and over
though if we turn them to lessons we'll see old habits fade

love, now that's another subject in itself
it's able to be heaven but can often be hell
I've not found true love but i've sure found the other
and when you fall deeply in love, still evil can dwell

Love can bring us all together yet split us up just as quick
We strive so hard to find the one that we'll love for good
only to be mistaken by falling so deeply for need
falling deep into the pit where no love has ever stood

it breaks our hearts when love is taken away so harshly
but then some get enjoyment from hurting a person so bad,
I guess it's all apart of hurting before getting hurt kinda thing
then it's not u being rejected and u don't feel so sad

I've loved once so deeply that it almost took me completely
my world was shattered there was no want of living on my own
Still to this day almost four years on his memory lingers
and if i let it my love for him would have only grown.

So I had to move on, somehow, someway, anyway
I tried fake love, one nite stands, and living alone
I couldn’t work out how to get his love out of my heart
From what I could tell there was no way known

But there was a learning experience from the love lost
So many things I didn’t know before Tim,
though sometimes I wonder why our love was lost
I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for him.

It's really quite strange when you look back in time
notice all the little mistakes that you made
when you couldn't understand why it was happening to you
now it stands out like a colourful parade

I guess this isn't really a poem for pleasure
more of a insight to as to the lessons i've learnt
maybe the only real subject to this poem before you
is mistakes are a lessons hiding and can stop u being burnt
