Subject: in with the new and out with the old

friends all changing,so close and now so far
just beyond my reach i dont know where they are
maybe i can chase them down and things will be the same
but they dont want to stay, they cant remain
my thoughts go out to them but return in vain
i sit and wonder how to make it change
but even when i do see them it is too strange
want to meet new people instead and leave the past behind
so why bother to even try to be kind
i cant get them out of my head pretend to be blind
no as close as i thought we were
a bond that now becomes a blurr
i guess ill just have to see
if one day they will remember me
and together again we will be

i do like who ive met
i just dont want to give up just yet
on friendships ive had so long
for them to suddenly be gone
to grow apart when so close
that would be morose
so let me back in and youll see
we can have what used to be
others can be fun i know
but old friends dont have to go
make new friends but keep the old
one is silver the others gold
that choice is up to you
so do what you have to do
ill be around for a while not forever
so becareful what lines you want to sever
