there were all those nights... those torturous black nights, when i could have called, would have called... i could have lit the red candle, i could have been there in the moon above you, willing you here... so many nights when i could have cast, pulling you back into these empty arms... but it wouldn't have been real. you would always wonder what brought you here, and i would always know it was my vain will... never your own love... never truth... only a perception of something missing, from an all to perfect picture... two absent souls, looking through vacant eyes, for a love long burnt out; looking for a heart long lost.
