Act I

the lights fade all around,
leaving me in a pool of darkness.
there is silence.
i am not afraid.
an abrupt crash, with a strong beam of light,
centering on me.
my head rises from it's low,
my body straightens.
a slow soft ambiance of warm sound envelopes me.
i rise.
around me are the whispers of others,
i ignore.
the ambiance grows,
and keeps me center.
i am rising.
looking up, i see the moon.
she sends her love.
i smile.
whispers quickly turn to screams.
i am hated.
the ambiance is overwhelming.
i am center.
i am warm.
the ocean whispers of courage.
i am strong.
words become violence,
and the sound wanes.
my head is low.
the moon is gone.
the sea is dry.
i am alone.
the light fades,
and the curtains meet center stage.
