Ok, ever start off writing something with one idea or intent, and then it just goes way the hell off in another direction? That's what happened with this one...

As the crow flies

The cross roads are blurred,
a short street,
a dead end.
I don't know where to go,
this courtyard isn't mine.

No family in here,
just drawers full of empty.
No friends,
just sidewalks full of people.

I don't know where to go,
I left her at the train,
he left me in the street.
Tell me where to go,
I've still got some fight.
I have no foundation,
but I'm still in this war.

As the crow flies,
northward with quiet grace,
call me home again.
When the streets go nowhere,
go as the crow flies.
