Subject: I've Learned a Lesson

I came to you with a look of hope in my eyes and you took me in.
I was curious to know everything but conscious not to look too green.
I said the things that I thought were right and you played along.
You made it so easy to fall for the bait, you knew what I wanted.
I craved the look of it, I envied the ones who were born into it,
Held such contempt for the way they disregarded it and me for not having it.
You were my way in, you were my bridge into normality and I trusted you.
If I had to choose the things that upset me the most the first would be that.
So angry that I didn't spot you for the liar you are!
You took me in, you took me into your cradle of confidence and rocked me til I slept.
You told me everything I wanted to hear, couldn't have made it any easier than that.
Turned me around and sat me in my cart and told me to drive.
Said that I'd be fine, said that nothing could go wrong.
I said, "This is going so smoothly, not like in the movies."
"Yeah, well this is easy...it's EASY"

I've learned a lesson.
