There, in her eyes is everything he thinks of.
I see the way he films her and takes extra snap-shots when she's distracted,
It's not her face he's after, he wants to capture her soul.
I see him fall all over himself when she makes conversation and how he laughs too hard.
He is in love and she doesn't know it.
I see the glare of the lights shine on the bald spot on his head,
I see the brown, shrunken collar of his shirt beneath that old blue sweater.
I see him stare too long and try to make eye contact,
To make that one-on-one connection that would be just his...but it doesn't happen.
She goes on with her work and he goes on believing it's not work, that she wants to be there.
I watch him fumble as her lover walks in and easily grabs her attention.
Sweeps her off her feet without trying and casually dismisses her to greet a friend.
I see him watching her jealously, watching her watching him jealously.
I don't bother to think they could ever be an item.
I don't bother to give an introduction.
I don't bother with perpetuating the fairy tale of love unrequited.
I simply tend to my business and watch people do what they keep doing...
