Subject: April 99

On a rugby tour in the Isle of Man, 16 English birds, one Irish and me. I had played no rugby due to injury (sustained falling down the stairs in a club on the first night of tour) and was demoted to official photographer. Got chatting to the Welsh barman at the rugby club, who generously agreed to open the club for us the next day.
So well rolled up about three seconds before kick-off, desperately hung over, and the English contingent took the piss liberally for 75 minutes. Then suddenly me, the barman and the Irish girl were the only people smiling!

I got more drunk that night than I ever have in my life and got back to the b & b by a mix of crawling and being carried. The only thing that marred the experience was the 6am ferry to Liverpool the next day... I spent four hours curled up under a table trying not to be sick.
