They pay enough for goofballs like you to be able to buy a computer and pay for the electricity to operate it. Spend less time online and look for a higher paying job or at least get some skills so somebody would want to hire you. There is a shortage of skilled workers in this Country and they get paid very well. The public school system in the US is mostly turning out lazy dumbells who only show up to work when they feel like it.
