except most hillsides are not steep and muddy they are covered with vegetation you either live on a hillside or live in a valley type area that has rivers draining it in w wa. including all of seattle ; Perhaps most people in w wa after paying for earthquake in have a difficult time coming up with flood ins. We pay about 600 a year for earthquake ins. have not found it necessary to buy flood ins as our property slopes to downhill at a good rate and there is only room for one other property on the up hill side of us .this last storm was not a normal storm for the pac nw it was a hundred year storm or so we have been told. its easy for someone to sit in their smug little lives and critisize other kind of pathetic on their part in my book that they have lost their humanity . btw do you also expect the homeowners to pay for bulding all the bridges that have been washed out the repairs to all roads including the interstates etc. ? perhaps as every one uses the roads people all over the country should pay more for their homeowners ins to repair all the infrastructure either that or if you live in another state then be charged a toll if you are not a resident of that state . get real we are all in this world together .
