Perhaps a capitalist system based on profit without accountability does not breed politicians that care about the public-at-large.

Be that as it may, the European system seems to be very healthy right now. German (a country that nobidy thouyght would make it after the fall of USSR) had a budget surplus last year, the price of gasoline and diesel has not changed there, the cost of wheat has not doubled as it has here in the States.

And I can still get an excellent bottle of wine for around two Euros. lol

But I must agree, the American political system is one built on corruption and greed. There is a lot of money to be made and the political system is funded by the same people who want to make money. So it has to be corrupt. It is stupid to think otherwise.

But that does not mean that things cannot be better. Europe.
