Everyone in Congress knows it but will never tell you is that medicare and medicaid are rapidly going broke and this (the increases) are just stopgap measures to put off the enividble. And you guys want total national health care!!!!!! Where's that money going to come from??? As for passports....they cost $97 and they are good for years. Cheaper than a fishing licence for a couple of years. Besides they had to make them more tamper proof becuase of terrorism. Now the gasoline thing. The federal tax is the same today as it was when Bush took office 18.4 cents per gallon. I know you live in Washington where the STATE gasoline tax is 23 cents per gal which is HIGHER than the national average of 17.9 cents. I guess you better talk to those Dems running your state!! And as far as seniors go.....Bush has helped them with his tax cuts and new 10% catogory and lower taxes on capgains and dividends which are a big deal to them. >they are just hidden taxes.
