Those house prices are high because someone is willing to pay them and that someone MUST be making enough money to get the loan to buy it.
My $20 an hour, low skill, starting pay job is NOT in Seattle and the living cost here are MUCH lower. You can buy a nice house here for between $40 and $50 thousand dollars. My advice....MOVE!!!!!!!!!!!
My advice to your aunt.....SELL that house and move here or someplace like here and have lots of extra money to live on. Why put up with high price nonsense when you don'r have to. And don't try to tell me she can't move!
