The French army was in mutiny by June 1917 and the Brits were making no headway on the western front with Passchendaele to come. Germany, after defeating Russia, had a numerical superiority in the west in early 1918 for the first time. Had the US stayed out the entire mess would have ended in stalemate and some treaty ending it, leaving the German monarchy intact. Just MHO. What effect do you think the arrival of a million doughboys had on the morale of the allies? What effect do you think it had on German morale? The Germans defeated Russia, conquered more Russian territory than Hitler did. They never would have permitted the rise of communism there. But we did intervene, giving you European dopes a fresh opportunity to slaughter yourselves again 20 years later.
