I still think of the WWWashboard bunch as family, WIlbs.

I was explaining my fit of pique with reference to Gadzooks and the other hit and run posters when I mentioned patriotism. They've got a bad case of "You're with us, or agin us", and that's just too simple and simple-minded.

I don't mind arguing; most of the time it's enjoyable, but it's hard to argue when the only remarks presented are personal attacks.

I try to hold on to the values I believe are enunciated in the Constitution, and I think too many people are willing to allow infractions of those values to feel safer, to gain revenge for the attacks on us, out of a sense of "manifest destiny", and other unreasonable reasons.

I too believe we should be able to feel safe within our borders, but I don't agree our desire for safety gives us a mandate to impose our political system on the world, which is what a lot of people seem to think.
