Assuming EJ and Normal to be women, you articulate and precise and possess insights somewhat rare these days.

Grumpy is smarter and better organized than I, but I suspect we share a certain fatalism and if that isn't noble enough, laziness. I suffer from the old adage that those who need to read it won't and those who will read it don't need to!

But, perhaps it is time for something -- something to provide realistic alternatives; something to help the disenfranchised to be heard again. Freedom is the right tpo be left alone and as I've said a hundred times, we have a right to not have to watch our government's every move; to suspect its motives; to question its wisdom. Really, that is pretty much what the Constitution is about.

Maybe we do stand at a crossroads and maybe we need to mobilize the people who are still simply wanting to be left alone. If the Libertarians would stop that nonsense and join with the democrats, it would make a huge difference and one thing is certain, their agenda is more compatible with the democrats than it is with the new republican party.

Here we are. The Patriot Act can be used to go after anyone the government decides to go after. Practically any behavior can be censured. Would they? Who would have believed they would pass such an act; who would have believed they would nationalize women's wombs by EO; who would believe they would drape a statue, for God's sake.
