We haven't been close to that cold - no less than 25 so far.

The "track a cat" is something I just learned recently. I had not heard that until I was into my 50's. However, they do say, that the day (number) that the snow falls on (if it's enough to track a cat) is the number of storms you'll get.

I am not supersticious. I've seen far too many really bad winters when those caterpillars said no.

Hope your bill doesn't get too high either. By the way, since they tell us that the Northeast (me, but more than that) burns all of the middle eastern oil, what do you guys heat with?

We USED to heat totally with wood - then went to a wood-coal boiler in my basement, ran off the thermostat. All of those things were pretty expensive - one with time and work (the wood, cutting, curing, stacking, loading) the other with money, not hard to deal with, a couple of shovel fulls held us for the night, shake it down, a couple more shovels and we were golden.

Just want to know. I like to learn.
