Having some problems with the invitations and the "Maine folks." One of them hurt my youngest daughter's feelings a couple of years ago (she's actually living with a man who happens to be sensitive, smart, and just what we all hope they are for our daughters, he just happens to be black), when he pushed her away, and told her, that he didn't know who she was any more.

Well, the oldest, who is GETTING married didn't want to invite that person, (she saw the above happen) so we talked about it and decided, that even though he was her father's brother, he would not be invited.

The big mother called yesterday to complain. Oh my. Too bad you raised your boys wrong. "Too bad big momma, if you feel you shouldn't come, don't. My kids mean more to us than that. I've been here 33 years. You were there for 18."

Sucks when that stuff happens, but it reinforces everything we taught them. Good people are good people, bad people are bad people. They come in all colors. Don't matter. Judge them for who they are. Not what they look like.
