Subject: Don't let me Become a Poem

During the course of this past year
I've written many a verse
describing the life of others
who have reached Heaven first.

Some I wrote about, I knew them.
Others, I wrote from the heart
by the request of others
who couldn't describe being apart.

I hope I live some good more years
before I'm guided Home.
O, dear Lord, I beg of you
don't let me too soon become a poem.
