Hey everyone. I've heard that many negative things are being said to/about some people that attended the retreat. This is SATAN! He's trying to put that fire out. DON'T LET HIM!!! Prayer is a really important tool that can help you through these tough situations. I want to share a prayer with all of you that i try to pray as often as i can. It is called the Prayer of Jabez and comes from 1Chr 4:10.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed,
and enlarge my territory,
that Your hand would be with me,
and that you would keep me from evil.

The bible tells us that a man named Jabez said this prayer, and God answered it. It is a beautiful prayer because it invites God to come into our lives.

God has so many blessings waiting for us. Sometimes, all we need to do is ask. In this prayer Jabez is asking God to bless him, but not in ways that he desires. He is asking for God to bless him in accordance with His (God's) will. God knows exactly what we need and will provide if we ask.

The second line asks God to enlarge our territory. Our job on earth is to not only get ourselves into heaven, but to reach out and touch other people by being bold and being a light to them. Try to reach out in love to those who are persecuting you, rather than responding in anger which is exactly what Satan wants. Don't be afraid to ask God to enlarge your territory. He will never ask you to do anything that you are not capable of doing.

"...The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." Mt 26:41
We as individuals are weak and can't do it alone. Ask God to guide and strengthen you with His spirit just as Jabez prays "that Your hand would be with me".

Finally, Jabez asks that God keep him from evil. If we can ask God to strengthen us when we are threatened by evil, why can't we just ask God to keep us away from evil. Well, of course, evil is all around us and we will encounter it until death, but this verse of the prayer asks that we will not have to fight unnecessary temptation. I don't know about you, but if there is a such thing as "necessary temptation", that is enough temptation for me.

Whether you are having a hard time with the temptations of the devil, or the fire is still burning in your heart and you feel really close to God, I encourage all of you to add this prayer to your prayer life. It is only four lines long and not hard to remember. Don't just recite it though, keep in mind the meaning behind each verse. Do this and I promise you will begin to see God work more and more in your life. I've seen it happen in my own life.

I love you all and God Bless!
