The "fact" about confirmation, is that it is the sacrament that initiates you as an ADULT into the church. It IS a wonderful thing if this junior wants to be confirmed, but I also know for a fact that the rules are clearly stated from the beginning. Part of being an adult is being responsible enough to find out all that is necessary to be confirmed and then doing it. It is also unnecessary to be trying to get people excited over something over which they have no authority. Christina Menard is the confirmation director and so all questions should be directed towards her. Further than that, Father Wayne makes all final decisions, so it's not like this "rule that's running people away" has not been thought and prayed about by responsible adults who care about the spiritual well-being of the confirmation candidates.
Furthermore, if people want to go to another parish that should not be offensive to anyone. We are ONE body in Christ, ONE church!! There is no "this church", or "that church", it is ONE faith that belongs to all of us.
