J did make a good point. Expage is an excellent starting place to make a site. I even started there. It lets you make a page good with only simple html codes. Then I moved to geocities. I made a page from scratch on there. You have to have a code for everything. Lines, colors, spaces, you name it. It is a lot harder, but allows more space and creativity.
