 I think Expage is good, it's the people on Expage that makes it "annoying." Heck, I'll bet most (if not all) of us started out on Expage, and some are still on! Expage is a good service for people just getting to know HTML. But people just want it for hits, this that. "my site has more content than yours..." that kinda crap. But each person is entitled to his own opinion...
