The higher you get in the pyramid of leaders, the bigger the lies. Just read Samuel Lee's versions of UBF history, how he called everything that happened a "rebellion" etc. Or please remember how Samuel Lee published faked photos in his newsletter. The most "famous" case being the third level added to the conference hall.
The European UBF leader, Kaleb Hong, is also a notorious liar. He told a Korean UBF missionary that nobody planned to make him the Europe leader, and that there was no problem with Abraham Lee, when he had already several weeks earlier received a letter from Samuel Lee explaining that Abraham Lee fell in disgrace and he should become Europe leader.
Sarah Hong, the wife of Kaleb Hong once lied to me saying she did not know where my wife was when my wife in reality had been kind of "kidnapped" by Kaleb Hong in order to inhibit our marriage. Later, when Kaleb reconsidered and we were allowed to marry again, she kind of apologized saying that she "only followed orders" when she lied to me.
When I confronted the senior missionary in our chapter with the lies of Kaleb Hong, he started to justify lying theologically: If it is for the sake of God (=UBF), lying is allowed. Many cults have such a teaching. Jehovah's Witnesses calls it "Theocratic War Doctrine." UBF has the same doctrine, but they don't make it public.
Of course, more often than straight lies you will be confronted with covering up, concealing unpleasent facts, exaggerations, twisting the truth and telling half-truths.
UBFers also have a habit to never make concrete statements and never respond publically or in written form, so it's very difficult to catch them lying. On the forum, most of them write anonymously for the same reason.
