Subject: scholarly article about decpetive communication

Hi,

Just for reference and enlightenment, here is a link to a very well written article about deceptive communication.

http://www.pantaneto.co.uk/issue3/Osman9.htm

The article discusses how decpetive communication fails tests of reason and logic, how it violates typical rules of conversation, how it purposefully employs ambiguity to confuse the audience. Add to that concealment, exaggeration, equivocation, half-truths, irony, and misdirection, wrong context, etc. I believe the ubf defender in question has resorted to intentional deception as his last line of defense for the ubf. He doesn't have any other bullets to shoot.

I hope our friends can all start to beef up on these types of issues. We have hardly scratched the surface in exposing the psyche of ubfins like priestlynation. God bless us all.
