In reply to: H Miller 's message, "UBF Toledo" on 16:15:22 03/29/05 Tue

I have not seen the UBF Fox News segment, because my current residence is not in Toledo.

My parents viewed the segment this evening and reported to me that they thought the piece was well done (not just because I am their daughter.)

My father stated that he felt like Heather Miller did an excellent job presenting the facts as they were given to her, and he was pleased to say that UBF was presented in the light of being a cult (regardless of UBF denial).

Personally speaking, I am delighted that at the very least negative exposure was presented regarding UBF (TRUTHFULLY).

I would also like to leave a message here for current Toledo UBF members (and Brian Karcher) should they read this post.

I have every intention of pursuing all avenues available to prevent you from recruiting students on TU and BG campuses. I regret that more former members have been unable for their own personal reasons to speak out against the distorted scriptures UBF "teaches".

I have regained my courage over the past several years by being able to express myself on this web forum and I have no intention of stopping.

Contrary to some opinions of current UBF members, I do have a very healthy, active life and I intend on using some of that energy to see that UBF either repents and changes for the better, or ceases to be recognized as a student organization altogether.

I consider this evenings news presentation to be the introduction to future negative publicity for UBF. The events that occured during my 10 year stint are all true, and I am not concerned that a mere 10-15 current UBF members wish to dispel my statements. The current members were not involved during my tenure there and they did not have the same experiences. That does not mean it never happened, but I guess they are so caught up in their current state of repression that the truth staring them in the face is just to difficult to accept.

Regards,

Desiree S. Ray
