on wbat you mean by this in one posting?"

Hi Joe,

Sorry for my tardy response to this question. When I heard Brian's testimony in 1998 refering to "cliff jumping", I immediately understood it or connected it to the oft used term in UBF "leap of faith", or "decision of faith". People who take a "leap of faith" at the councel of their shepherd or in obedience to their shepherd might be doing some serious cliff jumping.

I my 10 year UBF experience as a member of Hamilton UBF, I did some serious cliff jumping. Advice for me to make a leap of faith to redirect my life in conformity to my shepherd's will was often times supplemented with an ample amount of coersion and many times some sort of ultimatum.

A small example of this cliff jumping behaviour was when in the mid 90's a group of senior missionaries in the Hamilton UBF came to my work place while I was working and gave me an ultimatum to just walk off the job so that I could attend the first day of a Spring Bible Conference. This was backed by weighty amount of coersion that made me think that my standing in the UBF community, my life of faith, future marraige prospects, everything would be in jeopardy if I did not walk off and leave to go to the conference. So I just walked off the job. That was it for my job.

It would suffice to say that Paul Hong has delivered alot of ultimatums and has been involved in a lot of coercive activities to help people make that "leap of faith" even when it might be against their conscience. I can not give any detailed information on this. But Brian has been simply avoiding the fact that many people have been serious injured through Paul Hong's coersive ministry.
