As I said, your group seems to have serious spiritual problems if you hold the stance that

- repentance need not be accompanied by apology
- sins, particularly public sins (commited through the way of leadership) need not be confessed
- it suffices if a church "changes people for the better", but the church itself needs not be accountable and follow Biblical standards concerning leadership etc. ("end justifies the means")
- it suffices if I personally got any benefit from my church ("this is all I know"), it does not matter what others experience or whether the church is overall healthy (see above)
- discussion with critics and former members are considered a waste of time
- problems are only considered problems if you are personally affected (even concerinng me and Joe you seem to suggest that we are only criticizing UBF because it is our personal problem, because we are personally suffering)

Like Joe, I personally do not expect anything from UBF any more. We have quit with UBF and sort of come over our desillusionment and pain. But a problem does not stop to be a problem if you are not personally affected any more. I think the Moon cult is a problem, though I am not personally affected. I would warn of the Moon cult, if I had the insider knowledge and felt that it would be my responsibility. But as a former UBF member, I feel my responsibility to warn of my former group. And I will continue to warn others as long as I don't see UBF making a real inner and outer change. Your words confirm me that UBF members have serious lacks concerning their understanding of Biblical standards, ethics and church conduct. And if there are such lacks, spiritual abuse is preprogrammed. (And I can safely assume that your leaders have even greater lacks in these areas than you, since you are at least posting here, probably because you subconciously feel that the criticsm is right and want to confirm yourself and ease your conscience. The leader don't even talk to us - see the 16 letters to Barry - and they don't talk about things are changing, lest admitting anything had been wrong in the past.)
