Subject: Health, then faith
In reply to: Desiree S. Ray 's message, "Re: Wake up call for UBF members" on 21:17:41 03/04/05 Fri

I'd just like to throw in that Jesus healed the Sick and Wounded without first checking their religious status, and much more, He would not make faith a pre- or postcondition of His healing grace.
You see, He healed 10 people, only one came to the Temple to thank God. Jesus said "That's like it, like it or not".
But Jesus didn't FIRST send the people to the Temple, THEN heal them, but the other way around.

After our (mental and physical) health is taken care of, we should think about worshipping God. During or before the healing process, this is not an issue.

While on the one hand, faith can heal, on the other hand, lack of health can stunt faith, and this is why healing comes before faith. Only with health can faith be fully expressed.

As such, a secular doctor may be helpful, but still one should (after having been healed) thank the Lord: the Lord is our Healer, even if He uses secularities to do the actual work. After all, God's love is manifested in all of creation (Christian or not) - all we need to do is seek Him.

In Christ,
Mike K.
