Dear Christian Man,

I will only try and supplement what the previous posters wrote. I was in the Long Beach UBF for 7-8 years. I saw the fate of those that tried to change UBF from the 'inside'. Those people were isolated, slandered and removed from leadership positions. They all, and I mean all eventually left. If you REALLY want to change UBF from the inside, get ready for a rough ride. The UBF leaders have very 'fixed' thinking. And you will not easily overturn decades of indoctrination and groupthink. Are you ready for rejection? Are you ready for isolation? The larger the center the harder it will be. UBF leaders want UNQUESTIONED obediance and like their followers to be passive and to easily fall in line. And they won't want you going around mucking it up. I shared this previously, but I will share it again because it perfectly illustrates the UBF doctrine. Missionary John Kwon once told me during 'bible study' that I must obey him like I obey God. Not all UBF missionaries will be so honest about such doctrine. But it is there nonetheless. Perhaps you are beginning to see such practice.

Although you have been in UBF for 5 years it sounds like you have a previous Christian background. Is that right? I bet you like UBF because of their zeal and tight knit community. You want to totally commit your life to God, is this right? Well, you don't have to be a member of UBF to be committed to God. They are doing many things which are unbiblical and unJesus like. I think their fruit is quite rotten and may explain why their ministry does not flourish.

I hope that you will keep us updated as to your progress. We are hear to help you and share with you are experiences if that helps.
