Yes, that was the same thought I also had. I am very disturbed about the seeming callousness of UBFers even when gross abuse is reported.

It reminds me a little bit of the Germans in WWII when they heard rumours about Jews who are killed in Auschwitz. Auschwitz was far away and they liked to believe this were only rumours. Anyway, only Jews were affected, the Germans did not experience anything bad. Instead, they experienced a wonderful feeling of solidarity among the German people, law and order, and many other good things. So, why worry? Why inquire more about these rumours? Even today, there are those people who say that there are no evidences about Auschwitz and the Holocaust. If you do not want to listen, if you do not care, if you have your fixed worldview, no evidence in the world will ever convince you.

(Just to make this clear: I don't want to compare anybody here with the Nazis, I just want to show a very extreme consequence of having a mindset of carelessness about the fate of your neighbours and of blind trust in your leaders.)
