Maintaining a relationship with friends and family is very important. When the abuse, manipulation, and deception comes you will not feel that you have no place to go outside of UBF. I maintained a close relationship with my family during my time in UBF. They provided much encouragement and support as I struggled with first with spiritual abuse and second with the decision to leave UBF.

If anyone in UBF is reading this, please continue visiting, calling, Emailing or whatever contact you can with family and friends, especially your parents. Regardless of what the leaders ask of you regarding your time and energy, maintain a good relationshi[ with family and friends. Whether UBF or anywhere else, it is not wise or healthy to only have relationships with members of one organization.

My chapter directors' wife once told me that I should regard what Samuel Lee says as if it is what God says. I tried to rationalize that she just wanted me to have respect Samuel Lee. In reality, UBF encourages members to regard Samuel Lee's words and actions as if it was God himself. They do not question, they simply obey. I am happy that you were able to see the reality of UBF.

I will pray for your friend and I hope you will also continue to pray for her. Being married will make leaving much more difficult. However, nothing is impossible with God. God blessed me to see that UBF leaders wanted me to obey them rather than God. I pray that God will reveal this and many other fallacies within UBF to your friend.

How has your post-UBF experience been regarding church, social, and family relationships?

In Christ,

PECAS.
