Interesting. Yes, the way how JFJ and UBF or ICC operate seems to be different. I haven't studied JFJ too much, but it seems they do not practice 1:1, maybe not even the "classical" shepherding/discipling thing. Their strategy seems to rather consist in raising payed staff missionaries, whom they make depended through the salary. Both groups/leaders seem to be very focused on "effectivity" (in terms of recruiting loyal members) and convinced that their respecitve methods are the most efficient ones. Though they are different in some areas, I can recognize many similarities. I believe by comparing different groups we can better understand what the essence of spiritual abuse is, how spiritual abusive systems operate, and how spiritual abusive leaders can be recognized.
