Yes, I could easily find it on the map. Geography isn't my best subject but I can tell you it is bordered by Denmark, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands going clockwise and also by the North and Baltic Seas. I am 25% German in ancestry on my mother's side. I also have been to Germany, France, Luxembourg and Holland. I don't think I am an ignorant American even though my family is more than 150 years removed from Europe on both sides of my family. I also encourage my son to learn as many foreign languages and cultures as he can.
