It appears that Barack Obama had a very successful trip overseas. He LOOKED like a President. He even made McCain angry! LOL
Speaking of McCain, he's beginning to remind me of an old man yelling at the kids to stay off his lawn. I figure since his wife is worth over $100 Million, he can replace his lawn everyday for the next 100 years without having to worry about how to pay the bill. Unfortunately, most of us have to earn our money by working--not by inheritance.
And then there's McCain again, yelling that Barack opposed the 'surge', which, in the eyes of McCain, was a success. Not in my book, mister. The 'surge' may have reduced the killings but it did not achieve the political reconciliation. Anyone could have predicted this--Iraq is NOT going to be a Democracy in a few years--Iraq MAY become a Democracy in a few Decades. McCain says he'll pull out our US troops when the 'conditions on the ground' are favorable. Well, I have news for him--the 'conditions' are NEVER going to be favorable; not as long as the US stays in Iraq. This crappola of giving it six more months, then six more months, then six more months--six more months is NOT going to make Iraq move any faster than it is right now. All the generals in the US military can say the 'conditions on the ground' are improving; but they will NEVER say that it is favorable for US to leave Iraq. This has been the plan all along--stay in Iraq for years and years and keep giving six month progress reports. And if people don't realize this then they either fell off the turnip truck yesterday or they don't want to know the TRUTH!
We all got soaked from 'Dolly' but didn't lose anything, like some did. The only thing that happened was a few tree branches fell on the street and a lot of wet leaves blew into the yard. I know there was a small tornado in San Antonio, but nothing like that happened here at home--just a lot of rain and a lot of strong winds. We really needed that rain--but not all at once. It's strange, but we are still considered to be in stage 1 drought conditions, because we are still about 5 inches below normal rainfall for the year, even after all that rain.
Well, back to high temperatures, high humidity and frizzy hair! LOL
May Everyone have a Safe and Happy week, and stay cool!
Love,
Mercedes
