Subject: Well, I've calmed down a bit since the shocking news of McPalin...

First, I was mad that McCain picked her. Then my son told me she sure was good-looking and he might just vote for McCain. Then after I nearly had a heart attack, he said he was just joking.

I have been now been looking at this 'veep' pick logically. I actually think that since she's pro-life and pro-gun she will bring McCain more votes than he would have had with someone else as his 'veep'.

BUT I do know that once they begin to find out about McPalin's anti-abortion hard line (NO abortions, even for victims of rape and incest) and her hatred of anything to do with the environment, and her husband working for BP and making loads of money from OIL, most women who supported Hillary will NOT vote for McCain because of his 'veep' choice.

I'm a little bit sad, too, because the speech that Barack Obama gave on Thursday was so great, and McCain stole the spotlight on Friday morning, with his announcement. But I have read that most of the world's leaders STILL want us to elect Barack Obama and Joe Biden. I know I will vote for Barack because I want to have life be the way it was when Clinton was in office, NOT like what Bush has done to us--the "have nots" with his 'drunken' spending sprees on war and on tax breaks for the rich.

REMEMBER, even if you now want to vote for McCain and his 'veep' there will still be 4 more years of War in Iraq, Tax Breaks for the rich, the shredding of the US Constitution and more home foreclosures, jobs sent overseas and cuts in government programs. This is just the same old Neo-Con agenda--the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) that will try to make the US of A into a world 'empire'. The only difference now is that it comes in a 'pretty package of eye candy'.

I'm not pleased with the pick but I think McCain will win. Dems are very vocal so it seems like Obama has more supporters but alot of quiet people are going to come out of the woodwork and vote against him. Then,TommySun, August 31, 2008 5:04:59
