In reply to: Peggy 's message, "I too heard the pregnancy issue raised yesterday at a peace group meeting" on Mon, September 01, 2008 4:16:26

First of all, I pray that everyone makes it out of Louisiana and is safe from the Hurricane Gustav.

Second, Peggy, I was e-mailing some friends and they didn't believe me when I wrote about the pregnancy issue. I do feel bad for the little baby and I wish him a great life, as he is Innocent of anything. But I do take exception to the supposed 'cover up' that the daughter actually had the baby 'out of wedlock' as they say, and rather admit to this, Ms. Sarah and her husband are playing the game of, "our family is pure as the driven snow". If she's is supposedly lying about her own family, what other lies and things is she hiding?

I've read the Huffington Post.com, and a few other Democratic websites, that even though she is a very popular governor in Alaska, there are thousands of people who live there that say she will be the downfall of McCain's bid for presidency. They say she will come after you with everything she's got if she thinks you're an enemy; and she'll try to make your life so miserable that you'd rather leave the state than face her wrath.

I don't want any kind of leader like that--we've already had the Bush-Cheney Neo-Con war machine! She'll just be in lock-step with McCain and do her best to destroy what she thinks are Liberal ideas and policies and try to push her and McCain's Neo-Con agenda on all of us.

As to Barack Obama and Joe Biden. To me, they represent at least a CHANGE--a change that will mean that regular, ordinary people will begin to be seen as more than numbers, or, in the case of Bush, more than open pocketbooks that he can pick clean, and the most important change--to end this insane Bush Invasion of Iraq. I really wish McCain would tell us how he's going to pay for all the wars he wants US to fight for him--Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, and who knows where else, and how we are supposed to EVER start to pay off the $10 TRILLION debt Bush is leaving us, instead of talking about how little experience Barack has in foreign policy.

I heard about Cindy McCain's being 'insulted' that Barack was 'making fun'(?) of her and John owning so many homes. Well, she Should be embarrassed! If she's another 'compassionate conservative christian' why does she need so many homes? Where's her 'christian' duty of selling and giving to the poor? And she also said that Ms. Sarah knows about foreign policy, since Russia is only a few hundred miles from Alaska. Excuse me, but how is that considered 'experience' in foreign policy?

There's just something about Ms. Sarah I don't like. She may go to church every day and twice on Sunday, but she appears to me to be a big-mouth broad who wants too much power, and everybody better get out of her way. She's not ready for it, and neither are we!

We need people in office to do what's best for US in this country, Not to turn the Supremes into a bunch of 16th century Salem Massachusetts Puritans and decide for ALL of us how we must behave and live our lives. I thought that God gave us all something called 'free will' and that 'look to the beam in your own eye before you take notice of the speck in your brother's eye' (credit to the Bible); which, to me, basically translates as-- 'look to your own faults and sins before you point out another's sins'. I mean I know that murder and crime should be punished and that we should treat everyone we meet (with the exception of people like Hitler, Stalin, etc) with respect, or at least be willing to tolerate them, but I am an adult woman and I don't need anyone throwing their firebrand of religion at me and saying that I or anyone else Must be in lock-step with 'their' morals and 'their' religion.

Mercedes

PS. I have chosen to call this woman from Alaska 'Ms. Sarah' at the request of my husband, as opposed to what I REALLY like to call her--something that rhymes with "rich". LOL
