"GRAND OLD PHARISEES"!

I'm NOT talking about the party of Abe Lincoln. I know he would be spinning in his grave if he could see what these people have done to his beloved party. He was the President who made sure that everyone knew that the South was to be provided money for Reconstruction and to be welcomed back into the US of A before he was so tragically assassinated.

The GOP of today reminds me of the Pharisees in the days of Jesus' life on earth. I don't have exact quotes, but all info is from the Bible.

Jesus called the Pharisees "Hypocrites" in that they paraded around for all to see that they were SO religious; yet they couldn't be bothered with poor people or people who were not like them.
When I watched the Repub convention last week, mostly I saw a sea of white faces. Maybe one out of every 300 people in the audience was of another color. This speaks volumes about how the Repubs want to be viewed. All their speeches about how they are the "Christian" party (so that makes the rest of us a bunch of heathens?) and that they will 'cut taxes' (we all know that they raise FEES, which is a code word for the dreaded word "taxes") and that they are the REAL party of 'change'.

I do agree with the Pro Life but only to a point. I DO NOT agree with Ms. Sarah wanting to outlaw ALL abortions. This is too extreme. I just wish if anyone does not want to get pregnant, either use contraception or get sterilized. That way, abortions will become the exception rather than the rule.

I was waiting for ANYONE to bring up the subject of how we're supposed to pay for GW's $10 TRILLION debt he's leaving us; how long our beloved troops will be stuck in Iraq; how we are going to proceed in the future on Healthcare, Immigration, the Economy, ANYTHING. But I sure don't remember hearing a peep about that--only bash Obama and bash Biden.

Well, Chato wants to leave in a few minutes for San Antonio, because he and some friends will be leaving for Corpus Christi about 3:00pm from SA. I warned him to tell the driver (who has a four wheel drive) to NOT get stuck in any sand dune or near the water. I read in the newspaper yesterday that the tow truck operators LEGALLY can charge up to $2,500 DOLLARS to tow your car or truck. Unbelievable!!!

Everyone take care this week and stay safe...

Love,
Mercedes
