In reply to: Teller 's message, "With these crazy polls, the thing that will make a lot of people become "deciders". The Debates." on Mon, September 08, 2008 12:51:49

were life-long Republicans and I just thought the GOP was boring.

I came of age when the Dems were having riots in Chicago and Bobby Kennedy would have been the first (age 21 then) I could have voted for.

I registered as a Dem 'cause I was young and stupid and my only criteria was they seemed to have more fun.

I vote hit and miss. I've only ever picked one winner (Bill) and that includes every proposition and measure on any ballot. I am perhaps a jinx of anyone who can't win in a landslide.

I haven't voted since the debacle of 2000 - yes, I still think Daddy Bush bought the election from his son whose only mission was to get revenge on Saddam. And I think baby Bush was in on 9/11. Most people receiving news that we are being attacked would gasp, jump up & clutch their heart, something other than sitting in a chair for 7 minutes staring at the ceiling. He showed no reaction because he knew it was happening and he was contemplating his success.

Anyway, though I loathe all the shrubs and what they've done to this country, I'm still all about fun. As long as I dislike both candidates, I think Sarah will come out punching (much like a Teresa Heinz) so, if I vote this time, it will be the McCain/Palin ticket. The jokes will be never-ending as opposed to the borings on the Dems side.

The polls are showing McCain leading anywhere from 4-11% depending on which poll you see and, while I don't give too much credence to polls (they are invariably wrong most of the time), since it's going the way I hope, I also hope they continue to reflect these stats and that the stats are correct.

Say what you will about polls, there are a lot of people who only want to vote for the winner and if the McCain camp shows it's leading, many will get on their bandwagon just for that reason alone.
